Delivering a Critical Pre-Commission Clean
Prior to the operating theatre becoming operational, the ventilation system required a comprehensive pre-commission clean to remove construction dust, debris and contaminants accumulated during the installation phase. The works formed a critical stage before commissioning, helping to ensure the ventilation system was clean and suitable for final testing and validation.
The project included the air handling unit (AHU) together with the complete supply and extract ductwork serving the theatre suite. Every component required careful cleaning to meet the cleanliness standards expected within a healthcare environment.

A Controlled Healthcare Cleaning Process
Our engineers completed a specialist pre-commission clean of the AHU, supply ductwork and extract ductwork using approved ventilation hygiene methods suitable for healthcare environments. Internal surfaces were carefully cleaned using HEPA-filtered vacuum equipment and non-shedding cleaning techniques to remove construction debris and fine particulate contamination.
Throughout the project, detailed photographic evidence was captured, with comprehensive reporting provided to demonstrate the cleanliness of the ventilation system before commissioning and validation activities commenced.

The pre-commission clean was completed successfully, leaving the ventilation system in a clean condition ready for the next stage of the commissioning process. The AHU, supply and extract systems were thoroughly cleaned, removing construction contamination and providing confidence that the system was suitable for validation.
